ONE MONTH

Wow! It has been one month today that we moved from the city to the country. I knew I would have lots of mixed emotions that day, and boy did I ever. It was hard to leave, like REALLY hard. It was my first home and I was still in love with it. I absolutely loved coming home to it. The outside look, landscape and everything just screamed "HOME" to me. It was a busy busy morning getting everything packed up. But by the end, the tears couldn't stop flowing. We put a lot of work into that house too.

I am adjusting to everything that comes with living in the country. I don't believe my house has ever been so dirty, constantly! I used to clean my house once a week in town, I could get away with just vacuuming if I was really busy one week. But out here, it's a constant battle. The kitchen always has dirt or mud on the floor. I usually can go 2 days without cleaning. The cobwebs are the worst! I clean out the window sills at least every other day and there are always lots of flies and cobwebs in them, every time. Adjustment? BIG TIME! The other day I was making the bed, and went to grab the decorative pills from the floor, and there was a big spider on one that had already made a web on it. Just from over night! Uh! I'm sounding like such a city girl. But man, I could do without those things!

The kids are loving it. The first couple weeks we were here the farm was in 2nd cutting. So wyatt was able to go ride with grandpa or uncle chad or uncle jason almost every day. He is in HEAVEN riding the swather or tractor. He is at the stage where there are a thousand questions ALL day long. He wants to know how everything works out here. Or why grandpa doesn't have the water on. Or when grandpa is going to use to rakes, or grease the swather, or put twine in the bailer. He is learning so much and seeing him so excited and happy, reminds me the real reason we moved out here. To give our children the life we had growing up. I hope I can remember that each day as I dream of my old house and the garage, or pantry room, or my sewing room, or the play room where their toys could be messy and we didn't even care. Oh, those were the days.

Wyatt Funnies

A few days after we moved into our new house, wyatt was outside playing and came running back inside screaming at me. He was scared and that doesn't happen very often. He said the bad guys were shooting at him and the birds. I was confused so went out with him. We heard the boom and he said "see they are shooting at me!" I couldn't help but laugh at my little city kid. There are some orchards a good 10 miles away and you could hear their M80s going off to scare the birds away. I explained this all to him, but he was still a little scared.

Now, 3 weeks later. We don't even noticed the booms anymore and he LOVES playing outside!!!
