Staying Busy

Some days I am really fighting to boredem down here! I don't like to go anywhere on cold days, and really we don't have many places to go! So I have to keep myself busy doing something, or I go crazy.
Since brock is a college student and works summers, the summer savings gets pretty low this time of year. We are working hard on budgeting and crafts are not in the budget! All my valentines stuff was things I had around the house. Even the picture, which is the wrong size for the frame, but it works :) I didn't have to go out and buy anything, would things be cuter and better if I had bought stuff, yes. But oh well. It is what it is and I am still happy about it :)

Brock made me this shelf for Christmas. Love it and love him for surprising me with it! He also made these frames for me, as I had asked him to. But went a step further and made them way better than I planned, he made them so you can change out the pictures, yes, I love him!

My first sewing project. I made this cute little towel. It was actually really easy. Joni made me one for Christmas and I LOVE it. I wanted a red one for vday so I did it :) The different color things on the bottom are little ruffles, it's cuter in real life because you can see they have little prints on them too.

Random Stuff

Wyatt learned about and loved choc milk while staying at my mom's.

The boys got caught playing on top of the foosball table! These two are into lots already, but I have a feeling it's going to get worse the older they get!
Our La Grande friends! wyatt with his future girl friends. Alysha and teagan Lester and Bree and Oakley Orton.

We took a little day trip to Walla Walla....we were going to go to Joseph/Wallawa Lake, but thought it might be too cold  for us. Wow, there is nothing to do in walla walla! We did eat at a good mexian place. This was the first time wyatt did GREAT at a restaurant. We were shocked!
Car ride home was a little bright, he actually liked wearing daddy's sunglasses.
A cold day in La Grande. Such a cutie!

"OWIE"

The day after his birthday Wyatt was hit with an owie. It was really hard to get a good picture, but you can kinda see how bad it was. Wyatt was in the playroom with the older kids playing (i thought he was with brock loading the car). The kids were playing on the treadmill. We don't really know what happen, just that wyatt stuck his hand in the belt and i found him screaming at the end. We are actually really lucky it didn't do any worse damage. It was a really deep wound, the white is fat. Poor guy, you can't see if but all 3 fingers were torn and bleeding.

Bottom picture is one week later. Not a good picture, but the only one I have. Still to this day, it is still trying to heal. Poor guy. He just started using this hand this past week.

Birthday Party

My little man turned TWO on January 5th. I can't believe it! He had such a good birthday, filled with lots of cousins to play with. He absolutely loves playing and running along his cousins, even the bigger ones. Since being back here in la grande and looking at his birthday pictures, we ask "where's hunter? where's kyla? where's natalie"...and all the cousins. I was actually really surprised he was able to point to each one of them! We took him to a dr appt and he is weighing in at 30LBS and is 37.5INCHES tall. He has been 30 lbs for so long now...the height just keeps getting higher.

Thanks to all who made his birthday special, and have made this past year with him so much fun! We really appreciate family and loved ones all around helping us with this opportunity of raising a child! (because we all know some days just aren't easy!)
This cake was so much easier to make than last years! It was easy, but I like how it turned out. Poor guy almost didn't even get a birthday party...just like I knew would happen, since it's so close to Christmas everyone was partied out. But I refused to give in...he needs a special day to himself too :)

Eating the yummy cake, he ate all of it too!

I'm pretty sure brayden was smiling this big because he had tricked grandma into not making him eat dinner, but letting him eat lots of ice cream and cake...lol yes, this is what happens when your kids go to grandma's house jande! :)

the whole group

Jilayne took a few pictures with her nice camera...they turned out so clear!
McGary Tradition: the Spatin Machine. The birthday boy/girl has to crawl threw the legs of everyone at the party and get spanked. Wyatt was a little skeptical and had to be pushed along. As you can see, it turns into all the kids get a turn, they love it. I remember doing this when I was a kid and being so nervous all my uncles were going to spank me so hard. haha. Fun traditions.

The Cabin Trip

We went to the Cabin at Priest Lake in Idaho from Wed 28th -fri 30th. It was a quick trip, but still fun to get away. We squished our family and Jason's family in their mini van, which ended up being a lot better for wyatt and chandler, they entertained eachother. There wasn't a ton of snow, prob 5inches or so. But it was perfect for taking the 4-wheelers around. We borrowed wyatt's snow suit from mom and dad and it fit perfect! I bought his snow boots last year on the clearance rack in spring, which are size 7 and he wears size 8or9...so a little tight. We overlapped with the Todd Eppich family for just 1 night so it was fun. We played games, ate good food, played outside, and went on a hike.

They went down the hill by themselves, I was really surprised they both stayed on. After about the 3rd time they both were done with it.

The hike. I know, snow suits without any snow...this was under the trees on a really nice day.
Wyatt got to be a pretty big grandpa's boy during the holiday break. He wanted to go everywhere and do anything grandpa was doing. I can't blame him, the whole break grandpa was banging on walls, going outside, and riding a tractor....all wyatt's favorite things!

SO CUTE!

Christmas Day

Christmas was so good to us this year! We were so blessed to have such wonderful family to share the day with. Wyatt was supposed to sleep a longer than he did, but he woke at 6:00am and was ready for the excitement! He was so cute as he went from toy to toy exploring each one. Santa was sure GOOD to him this year. I was a little nervous how he would do, because he LOVES trucks/wheels and Santa knew he has a lot of that already, so we stuck to interactive toys and things he needs (you will notice the toothpaste in one picture, lol). I wanted things that help him use his imagination and help him learn. He has really blossomed with his imagination since Christmas. Brock and I have both noticed he actually plays differently with his toys. even his trucks he now makes them crash, or hit eachother.
We went to CBW at 9:30 for a 1 hour church service. Came back and Wyatt took a much needed nap while we got things ready for the McGary lunch...which was prob the best meal I have had in a long time, seems like everyone made MY favorites! Fruit with choc to dip it in, mashed pots, ham, rolls, pasta, dip, tri-tip(ok well thats not my fav but it was good!) broccoli/cauliflower salad...I'm sure there was more. Wyatt woke and was able to see his cousins before we left to Gibbons. We had another great gift giving time and Wyatt was VERY spoiled with lots of gifts from his aunts and unlces too. I am so sad I forgot my camera at the Gibbons party. We were pooped by 8pm and so we headed back to McGary's and the party was still going strong there. Chad and Jande had showed up and we were up playing games til 11....that was the first time Wyatt had stayed up that late, but as the vacation went on, a late bedtime was the norm! :( There truly was just too much partying going on all the time to miss out.
I got a sewing machine and a cheese grater that attaches to the bosch...which both I've used and absolutely love! Brock surprised me and made me a cute shelf he saw I had pinned on pinterest...smart guy! Brock was also very spoiled. He got a .22 gun and an Xbox pkg that came with the Kinect, a controller, 1month xbox live and a game. So fun! During the Christmas time we grew closer to family as they were there for us at all times. We truly are blessed to have such wonderful people to share our sorrows and joys with!

Wyatt loves this little couch.

Grandpa McGary came up for all the christmas fun bright and early, he was there by 6:15am!

Brock opening the Xbox pkg. He was so surprised because our friends in La Grande, Steve and Alysha Lester, were supposed to get it for us on black friday. But I had preplanned the whole thing and they told him they weren't able to get one.

bye bye binki

I have a lot of updating to do, but I have to write this down right now or I will probably forget. Wyatt has been talking and jabbering a lot more the last 2 weeks. He goes off and on with talking, 1 week at my moms he was copying us a lot, next week almost nothing. But since we have been home and he is the only little one around, he is jabbering up a storm, with an occasional words in there!

We have been talking about taking away the binki for about 2 months now, but didn't because of the holidays and then he got hurt and then....ya we kept putting it off. He has been sleeping horribly for the past week, wont go to be, wakes up in the night, not fun. So this morning I figured since he is sleeping so bad anyway, why not cut the binki. So that's what I did. I cut the 2 we have, just the tips.
I gave it to him around 10am so he could get used to that fact that it was "broken" by his nap and it was SO STINKING cute what he did. He took it and kept saying"uh oh, uh oh, uh oh" and pointing to the cut off part. He tried sucking it, put his finger in the whole, chewed on it, just explored it for a couple mins...the whole time saying "uh oh." I asked him if he wanted to throw it in the garbage and he said  "ut uh" (no). We were in the kitchen and I was doing dishes when I heard him say "awwww" (his way of saying owie(sp!)) He was pointing to the cut off part, trying to tell me the binki had an owie I guess. He then grabbed a dish towel and wrapped the towel around the binki, being so careful to keep the nipple part outside of the wrap. It was SO cute! I couldn't figure out what he was doing at first. Then I realized....about 1.5 weeks ago he got his hand caught in the treadmill at my parents house and we immediately wrapped it in a cold wet cloth. He was doing the same thing! I couldn't believe it! Maybe I have a doctor on my hands...haha so cute!!

He left it on the ground and went back to pushing his tractor around and after about 3mins or so he came back to it. He picked it up and went and threw it in the garbage. I told him, ya binki broken. Say bye bye binki. So he stood there peeking in the garbage waving to it for a little. I repeated myself about binki broken and say bye bye and he kept waving and then said "ove oh" (love you)! He never says love you, but when we are leaving somewhere we always say 'say bye bye. say love you.' He said it about 3x to his binki, waving the whole time and then he shut the garbage lid. I hurried and distracted him thinking he might try to pull it back out of the garbage, but he never did.

Naptime at 12:30 went great! I couldn't believe it. He was SO addicted to his binki! I gave him another cut off binki and we layed down and he kept trying to suck it. He'd get mad and hand it to me, then take it back. I kept singing to him and finally I said "wyatt do you want mommy to hold your binki since it's broken?" and he handed to me. I kept singing to him til he fell asleep just 5mins later. WOW. awesome! Hope tonight goes that good!
