Neighbors: The Huff's

Have I ever mentioned how much we loved our neighbors? It was SO fun having great neighbors. Michael and Janelle Huff have 5 kids, Audrey 11, Reese 9, Sadie 7, Jane 4 and Faye 2.
Wyatt would literally RUN out the door the minute he saw them out playing. When I had Brynlie it was really frustrating. He wouldn't ask at all, wouldn't grab a coat or shoes, he'd just run out there to play. As he got older and learned to obey better, it was easier, and actually REALLY nice! Almost every afternoon around 3:30-5:00 the kids would be out playing from April to October. When he was really young I'd sit there and watch them. Which allowed me and Janelle to become really close friends. Since we'd both be out watching the kids play. They moved in April 2014 and it was a sad day for wyatt! Luckily, we moved not long after, I don't think I could've done a whole summer without them there!
Brynlie and Faye were just getting to be good friends too. Faye and I kinda share a special bond because I literally saved her life. The day before the moved every kid in the neighborhood was out playing. All of us adults were out there talking too. Faye started coming across the street from her house to ours, where her daddy was talking to me and brock, and I looked down and saw a truck coming. I thought for sure he'd slow down, but didn't AT ALL. I was holding brynlie, but screamed and ran as fast as I could down my driveway and literally grabbed her about 10 feet before the truck suddenly stopped. I was hysterical! The stupid guy was going so fast, he lived next door to us, so he knew there were always kids running around. It was just such a scary moment, I was crying like crazy. I seriously loved those kids like my own. Our backyard was their backyard. Lots of times we'd be eating dinner and they'd still be playing on our swing set. It's amazing how quickly things changed when they moved. We didn't get to see them much before we had to move. But Wyatt still talks about Reese eating our snowman's carrot nose, Jane watering the plants with him, eating popsicles, running threw the sprinklers, playing on their slip and slide, building with Reese's legos, playing kitchen with Jane, watching Reese ride his razor and skateboard, going for walks with Jane, making a snow ramp down our driveway. So many fun memories for those kids together, that my kids probably won't remember.

June 2014: The Move

After Karyn and Jason moved out, we started right away with painting. We were SO tired of painting. We had just finished doing the trim in our Kennewick house like 3 months earlier (which took a full 8 months to complete), so we were painted out! We only had 1.5 weeks until we needed to move in though, so we had to push on! Poor brock had to do most himself. I was so nauseous from being pregnant, and the paint smell didn't help.
June 13th I sat down with the kids and we popped popcorn and watched a movie....one last time before we moved the next day. I think I cried through the whole thing. It was a hard adjustment on me!
Saturday, June 14th- Moving Day! We were so blessed with people coming to help us! We have moved SO many times, and our families keep showing up to help us. This was by far the biggest move to date, so it required a lot of trucks and trailers. As everyone was loading us up, I had 2 very unpleasant bathroom breaks. We hadn't told many people other than family about me being pregnant, so throwing up while people are loading your stuff isn't very fun or easy to hide. I wish I would've taken pictures of the inside of our house (the current one, dad's house), there were boxes EVERYWHERE. Everyone kept saying, I don't know how you're going to fit this all. And I didn't know how either! But one box at a time, it actually all got put away. Sure EVERY cupboard, closet and floor space is jam packed, but it does all seem to fit (ok, things area lot more crammed the longer we are here. It seems to be cluttered a lot, which is a hard thing for me!).
The night we moved Jason/Karyn invited us over for dinner. Wyatt and Brock were both equally thrilled they could ride the dirt bike down there. True country boys!
When we got home from dinner we came home to Joni and Camille unpacking boxes for me! I was so sick and exhausted after every moved all our stuff in, I got the kitchen somewhat put away with my mom and Jilayne, but I had to lay down after that. We had so much help. Family is amazing!
Our first night in the new house was Brynlie's first night in a big girl bed. I was so nervous for her! We found a piece of plywood board and put it up so she wouldn't fall off. I kept getting up and checking on her, and we had the monitor, but she did great! She slept ALL night! I wanted to see her wake up and see her reaction sunday morning. It was so cute. She instantly grabbed her baby and just kept looking around the room.
The kids and brock QUICKLY adjusted! The space for them to play outside all summer long was amazing!!! Brock did however miss his garage. That was HIS space, and he had is very well organized! He started building the shed June 21st and finished somewhere around July 14th. He worked on it a lot. Like every night after work and all day saturdays. I was so sick inside at nights, a lot of times the kids had to fend for themselves, or daddy had to watch and build with them. Brock did an amazing job! He did a lot of research first, but he didn't follow any plans. Just went to work. His skills seem to be endless!! Obviously he needed help a few times. Chad, Jason, Derek helped a time or two, but dad helped a lot! He would stop by for 1-2 hours here and there when he saw brock out working.
Mornings were my best time of day and one morning I was very eager to get ride of the rocks in the front and plant some flowers! It was hard work! The kids and I got one side cleared and then never finished the other side. It'll be good exercise for me after the baby is born. I'm very eager to get some flowers and color in the front yard!

May 2014

Every month was so fun, but May was really fun, hectic, and busy!
We started off by helping tend cousins, a lot. Jande was put on hospital bed rest, so we got to all pitch in and help out on tending her kids. The cousins of course loved it. We were in the process of selling our house, so we didn't get to watch them as much, but it was still fun to do it a few times.
We enjoyed our last few trips to the park. (We REALLY miss our trips to the park now!)
Wyatt filled his good behavior jar and was able to get a yummy ice cream.
We went and watched Brock ride at a friend's dirt bike track way out past burbank, his name is Reed, he is one of brock's clients. Wyatt has gone a few times and LOVES it! It was fun to go out once as a family!
Mom and dad gave us Wicked tickets for Christmas, along with a trip to spokane. It was SO FUN! Gibbons watched the kids for us. It was so nice to be kid free for a while! We went up thursday and came home friday. Brock was very nervous about seeing a musical, but we all really enjoyed it! It was actually really funny and entertaining!
The kids had their last day of preschool while Brock and I were gone. Wyatt just loved going to preschool with this group! It was really great for him.
I found out May 19th that I was pregnant. It took me a few days to tell Brock, but we were really excited. It wasn't a surprise, we had been trying for a good 6 months. I was literally sick 4 days later, and throwing up 1 week later. :( Prepping the new house, and packing up the old one was the hardest thing ever. I was SO incredibly sick, it was hard enough just taking care of the kids, let alone packing!
We went up to the cabin for a weekend in May too. It was so much fun. Derek/Courtney, Camille/Travis, Jasen/Stephanie, and George/Chelsea Withers all came up too. The weather ended up being amazing and the kids had so much fun playing in the water. We didn't anticipate such good weather, so they had to use just their undies as swim suits.
