Back Yard Fun

We are absolutely loving our back yard this summer. Wyatt plays out there a lot. Paisley came over one day and they both had a lot of fun with the hose,water, rocks and a bucket. It was really fun watching them play together, they get along so good. Paisley is a bit more vocal, but Wyatt is pretty good at taking orders:)

Couponing Trip

SWEET couponing trip today! First off, thanks to Jilayne for sparing a few coupons to me. I couldn't have done anything today without her. Thanks! Here's my sweet deal and how I'm working hard to save our family money:
 16 boxes honey nut cheerios
   4 boxes multi grain cheerios
   5 boxes pasta
   1 milk
   2 boxes sandwich bags
TOTAL: $9.27 out of my own pocket and came home with:
  $12 in catalinas(money to use on anything in their store) AND 4 catalinas for free milk!!!!

ALLLLLLL done

Since I am a genius and left Wyatt's baby book in our apartment in La Grande, I don't have any where to write down some of his mile stones.

This past week we have really been working with him on new sounds and trying to get him to talk. We have always read to him and really encouraged him, but the past 2 weeks we have been at it all day every day. I know kids will talk when they want, but he wasn't saying anything besides mom and dad. About a week and half ago he started saying "hot." It is the cutest little whisper and he really hits the "T" with enthusiasm. It was so fun to hear him say new words! I was super excited when I put cooked carrots on his tray and didn't even say they were hot, but touched one and said "hot." So cute! I love it!

He also started saying ALLLLLLL done about a week ago. He mainly says it when we are done with a book. I hope he keeps progressing and adding words. It's a lot easier to know what he wants when he can tell me!

Wyatt and Paisley

Back in March when we were home for spring break we went to Paisley's house to play for a little bit...what an experience it was! Wyatt loved it! They have a golf cart and we took the kids on some rides, which was so fun. It was fun having them spend time together! We went down to Mausetts(sp!) pond and had just got off the cart and the kids were playing with the trucks in the dirt when the dogs that followed us (some Camille's, some strays) started attacking a goat that was caught in the fence. They were biting it's neck and pulling it out of the fence. We were yelling andd throwing wood at the dogs, they half in the pond and we couldn't get to them. It was a very intense few minutes. Finally the goat fell to the ground and looked very dead, blood on its neck and stuff. We got the dogs away and then after we'd called Travis and stuff (bout 5mins later) the goat got back up and was able to free it's self from the fence. Wow! Camille and I were both really in shock and were very glad the goat was ok! haha. I'll never forget this little experience!

SaWEET SMILE

Just a few gaps :)

I took this little man to the dentist for the first time on July 5th and he confirmed what I had been thinking: Wyatt doesn't have his top lateral incisors. We didn't take an xray because we don't have insurance and I didn't want to pay for it, but the dentist said he was about 95-97% sure he simply doesn't have them. With his cuspids already in it is a sure tell sign he isn't getting those teeth. He also said there's about an 80% chance he won't have permanent teeth there either, but we will just have to wait and see. (yes, lots of dental bills coming our way in the future!)

Although it was a little difficult for me to hear this news, I am so thankful and blessed with such a wonderfuly, healthy and happy child. My worries for him are all simply cosmetic, there are so many others out there with health problems which are far worse. Our prayers continually go out for all those children who suffer from far greater problems than having a SAWEET SMILE like my little wyster has.

the B.E.S.T 4th of July

What a GREAT day we had on Monday, July 4th! We started it bright and early at the Columbia Basin Ward breakfast at 8am. Wyatt doesn't last long sitting and eating, so I was constantly chasing him around, which lead to us leaving for the Basin City parade early. It was a very hot day and by 9am the sun was shining bright and Wyatt was having so much fun being around so much family. He loved running and playing with his cousins at the parade. The picture above is of the kids I could get to stop playing for a minute. He loved watching the parade with the many tractors, cars, trucks, and motorcycles. We then went back to my mom's and hung outside for a while while the kids played in the water toys and on the tramp. Brock and I were jumping and playing and having fun and I told him it couldn't have been a better day, I was so happy being with him at that moment. I love moments when you can take a step back and really appreciate the situation! We BBQd at mom's and it was amazing food! I made a sweet looking Red White and Blue triffle and it was so yummy! We then headed to Gibbons' round 3 and played some vball and BBQd (yes, we are going to get fat one of these days from so much food!). It was just so much fun hanging out and having fun all day long! We took off to the river for fireworks and wyatt loved every minute of it. He ran around for a w hile, but then sat very quietly (never happens!) on my lap and watched/waited for the fireworks. It was a long day, but extremely fun. He LOVES playing with his cousins so it was a day in heaven for him!

Hermiston Water Park

On Saturday July 2nd we went to the Hermiston Water park with Chris, Melanie and Keldon Cain. It was a perfect little drive and the park was perfect. It had a lazy river that we really liked and the slide Wyatt absolutely loved! It was pretty big, we had to hold him and he would laugh/scream the whole way down. He would start crying and trying to go get back in line the minute we hit the water at the bottom. He also loved the wheels they had on some water toys, but other than that he didn't love swimming or all the splashing other kids made. He would tolerate it when we took him in there, but he would moan a little bit. It was a wonderful family day though. Little keldon is a fish! He was so mad when he couldnt go off the big kids slide that shoots you out. Hopefully we can get wyatt swimming a little better soon!

Happy 4th!

happy 4th of july!!!
After reading The Children of the Promise series and understanding what everyone went through during WWII, I am so grateful this 4th of July to all who have sacrificed for our country. This series talks about a family that had a child imprisoned in Japan, one behind enemy lines in Germany, one serving as a nurse on a ship, one that died in Japan and then 2 teenagers still in school. It is amazing to me how much everyone sacrificed everywhere. I can't imagine being alive during those years, the war was truly on the forefront of everyone's mind. The death, the sickness, the beatings, the hunger, the confusion, the loss of overall goodness, the pain and confusion soldiers felt inside during and after the war, the saved ounces of fat, the lack of tires, sugar, meat, sporting events and dances done away with in high schools....I can't imagine the feeling of going without "for the duration" of the war. These people thought constantly of the end of the war and even when it was over, all the soldiers that came home stiff suffering because of things they had seen or done. Not only did Americans suffer, but this series shows how Germans suffered tremendously. It really opened my eyes, too, when the son that was imprisoned had a chance to beat the guards that had beaten him countless times, didn't do anything to them but  forgive them. Amazing.

I am so thankful for ALL who sacrifice for our freedoms. I know I take it for granted and I hope we can all remember to honor those who have and continue to fight for our every day life.
