HOME SWEET HOME

YAY! We have been looking forward to this moment for years and we couldn't be more excited about our new home. From the moment we moved back to Tri-Cities we have been searching for a home. We would just drive around and grab the flyers on homes that were for sale, along with searching the internet daily. We came to this house and I refused to jump out and get the flyer because I knew it would be priced way too high for us. Brock convinced me to grab it and we were both shocked when we saw the asking price, it was totally reasonable! From the first time we walked through it, we BOTH loved it. I don't know why, but we just felt so good about this house and after weeks of negociating, we finally settled with the owners. We move in on tuesday June 26th. I am so excited to finally be in one place for a long time. To have all my stuff with me. We still have tons in storage, all the stuff that was "extra" stuff (which is mainly my crafty/decor stuff). It will be like Christmas digging through all our things in storage. I can honestly say, I can't even remember what we have anymore! This house has plenty of room for visitors, so give us a little while, then come stop by! We are so excited about the space, the back yard, and the sweet spirit of this house!

We sold the table brock made because it ended up being too big for our little family. Wyatt was in the bath when it got hauled away. When he came out he was freaking out about where the table was. He crawled up on his chair and started jabbering like crazy about the table.

Getting ready

I have started getting things ready for the little girl coming and it's been so fun! I always envisioned having such a fun room, adorable clothes, shoes, blankets, and headbands....but quickly finding out it is so expensive! Back in October 2011 I found this sweet board at Restore for 50cents! I collected so many pieces of wood and stored them while we were in school. Every time I'd bring one home brock would say, we have a bunch already. Now, I am finally using them! This project was way harder than it looks because I used my cricut to cut a stencil and then painted the letters on. Of course they don't turn out perfect, so it was hard getting things to look right. But I love it! And can't wait to get her whole room pieced together!

Wyatt woke while I was touching the letters up and since he has been painting at school lately, he got so excited to grab a paint brush and help himself. I just about died!

A couple hours later when the letters were dry and I was fixing a few things, he pointed to the "o" on loved and said "oh."  Seriously?! He said it like 5 more times and I couldn't believe he knew it was an "o." He didn't know any of the other letters, but loved saying "r" after I taught him what it was. When brock got home later, I tested Wyatt to see if he really knew or not, he did. I have no idea when he learned this or how he knows,  but I'm excited about it! Maybe we will start the alphabet in the next couple of months!

Brock was playing with him recently and was quizzing him on animals. I have no idea how he knew these, but he correctly pointed to kangaroo, giraffe, elephant, hippo, panda bear, aligator, and monkey. He is getting so smart and surprising me every day!

Changes!

Is "change" really "change" when you "change" all the time?! We have had SO many changes in the past 2.5yrs, seems like we should be used to it all! A few things are changING now, or here soon!

1. This baby is for sure a girl! We have had a few ultrasounds because of some health concerns, and each peek at the gender comes back confirmed, girl. The most recent ultrasound reported she is a big girl with a big head. Yay ;) Dr said she is in the 85th percentile right now and if she stays that way, he is a little concerned about allowing me to try a Vback. I get nervous just remembering labor and delivery with Wyatt, so I try not to think much about it, but he does want us to start realizing the pros and cons. Baby girl is so active down low. I hardly feel her up high. Around 6-7pm every night something happens and she is kicking/moving so much it makes me nausious. For the most part, throwing up has been done for about 3 weeks now, but every now and then I get sick enough to run to the bathroom. I am 23weeks and thought I'd be feeling great by now. Not so much the case at night still. But compared to weeks 6-18, I am doing much better!!! I have finally started getting things gathered for this little one. I think the gigantic belly I haul around with me each day is reminding brock of another one coming and we have been talking about her more and more :)

2. Potty Training! I didn't know if Wyatt was ready for it or not, but I really wanted to have him completely done and potty trained by the time baby comes. So we started yesterday and he has done so much better than I thought! He quickly realized he didn't like peeing himself and that it was a "no no" or an "uh oh." I realized around 9am that he was ready when he came running to me and stopped right in front of me and then went. From then on I hovered him like a hawk and any time he looked down we ran to the bathroom, along with the every 15mins when the timer went off. He did great! By noon he had gone about 5x in the potty and had even looked at me two times and said "Run!" By the end of the day we were both done for. The every 15mins timer became both our dread. I got sick of it and so did he. But we pushed on and by the time daddy got home, he was done for the day. He flat out had 2 accidents without even trying to go at all in the potty. This morning I was dreading it, but knew he was ready and stuck to it. He did awesome! Even went #2 in potty this morning. He seems to have learned that he can hold it until the timer goes off, because we haven't had many accidents today. I am so proud of him. He still isn't telling me when he has to go, I just keep my eyes on him at all times!
He is also talking a ton now. I have realized he is a SHY boy. Whenever we go anywhere and I make him say stuff he always says at home, he either whispers it to me or won't say anything at all. Kinda cute :) Friends and family are starting to realize that he actually does talk, but on his own terms and when he really wants to. He will pretty much say anything I tell him to, or he tries and comes very close. We have had some good laughs lately with his mixing up a few sounds in a word!

3. Possible move...again! Since the day we moved into this house we have been looking around for houses to rent or buy. I didn't realize how much I'd hate living in a house on the market for sale. I love the space and it's amazing compared to the apartments we've been in, but I still can't "settle in." Nothing on the walls, at all! I find it very creepy to think random ppl are walking through the house looking at my stuff, sitting on our couches, or touching our things. I refuse to put pictures or anything with our name on it. It's most annoying cleaning every day and then leaving frequently for showings. Anyway, we fell in love with a house a few blocks away and we don't know why but it just feels right...to BOTH brock and I. It's not super glamerous, but tons bigger and nicer than I ever pictured my first house! After a few go arounds, they accepted our offer and things are currently in the banks hands. We have signed on getting a loan and boy oh boy is that scary. We have never gone into debt, for anything! We should hear the final "ok" from the bank by early next week....and then move the same weekend as Sarah's wedding. So excited!!!

Walla Walla Balloon Stampede

We had such a great time at the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede! We didn't have a lot planned for saturday and Brock had been once before, so we left around 4pm and totally enjoyed ourselves. John Farrell hitched a ride and we loved having him along with us for the evening! This was Mother's Day weekend, so this was my great Mother's Day family outing. It was free to enter and there was a fair type atmosphere. We walked the booths for a while, ate some snacks (I had packed lunches and all sorts of yummy stuff), and then we took Wyatt to the kids area. Big mistake! There was bounce houses, small rides, and the giant slides. He wasn't even begging, but I knew how much he would LOVE the big slides. So although the price was outrageous, Brock took him down the big slides. He was IN LOVE. And before they even came to a stop wyatt was screaming "MORE." We battled him from then on. It was too costly to go again, and so we quickly left that area with a screaming and kicking child. He finally calmed down when he realized the hot air balloons were starting to light up. There were only about 9 balloons, but I had never seen one up close and it was really fun to watch them light up. Our neighbors, Chris and Kaylee Smith, came with us too. We have really loved these new neighbors, they are great! Wyatt was so exhausted and slept the whole way home!

Catching up

 These top two pictures are taken about 2 weeks after we moved in. The back yard was full of lucious green weeds, brock took care of those right away. I thought it would be a huge pain to keep them down and dead. They have actually not been too bad. Wyatt quickly learned he has to have shoes on because of all the "pokies."

(below) The playroom had never been this messy. We were babysitting some extras and I was shocked how 3 boys could make a mess. I know, get used to it. It just isn't what I'm used to yet. Nice thing is, they clean up real quick!

Mid May we went out to the farm for a Saturday afternoon. In the picture above, Wyatt got booted to the back. So cute how he was hanging on and still loved the ride. We had a little campfire and enjoyed just our sweet little family of three.

He is getting to be such a big helper!
