Wyatt Brock Gibbons

I know it has taken me forever to get pictures up and post "our story" of the arrival of our little Wyatt. I finally found time to get to a place with internet and feel good enough to post:) So here's a quick/semi quick verson of what happened.

I started going into labor Monday January 4th around 6:45am. I was fixing breakfast and realized the contractions were coming pretty close together. It was Brock's first day back to school so I tried to ignore them, but around 7:25am when it was time for Brock to leave I had realized they were every 5 minutes, but they weren't that strong. So he left off to school. I talked to my mom and sister and around 8:15am Jilayne came and took me into the hospital. The contractions were every 5-7mins and were semi hard (or so I thought at that time, later I realized how hard they really get!). I was checked out at the hospital and was sent away, I was still only at 2cm. I had a dr appt at 2:00pm that day so they said to get checked then. We stayed in town and by 1:00pm I was in tears with almost every contraction which were coming now every 2-3 mins. I couldn't believe I was in so much pain and was still only at 2cm, I thought I was going to die when things got really far. I couldn't do it though, we went back to the hospital and they admitted me. I was checked again around 1:30 and was really glad to hear I was 6cm and 90%. I was like I KNEW IT, I was in so much pain there was no way I was still at 2cm! I got the epideral around 3:00pm and things were amazing! I could still move and feel my legs and every once in a while I could feel the contractions, but they didn't hurt so I was in heaven. They broke my water at 4:30pm and things progressed from there. I was at 10cm and completely ready to push by about 8pm, but the dr had 3 deliveries at the exact same time so I had to hold off on pushing. Eventually, I pushed for almost 2 hours and made no progress. Dr. Mulholland was concerned a little believe I had a fever of 103.5 and we needed to get the baby out. He had gone to the bathroom inside of me, which meant he was stressed and that he would need to be taken to NICU after he was born to have his lungs cleared out. I was so anti C sections but when he said I needed to have one I was almost relieved because I was exhausted from pushing. During the C section Brock says I started to moan/move around and cry out because I could feel the pain and so they knocked me out. I am so sad because I missed everything with Wyatt being born! He ended up doing better than they thought and brock and the rest of our family were able to be there when they weighed him and got him all cleaned up. He was born at 12:07am January 5th, weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 20in long. I finally came back to around 1:15am and had no idea what had happened. Brock says I asked the same questions over and over for a while about the baby. Everything was so blurry and I was still pretty out of it, but I got to hold him for about 15 mins and then his oxygen levels started getting really low and they had to take him to NICU. A couple days later his oxygen levels were all better but they figured I had some kind of infection and he got it so he had to have 7 days antibiotics. He was in the NICU for 3 days and then with us on the labor floor for 1 day and then we were moved to the Peds floor (which is super nice!!) so he could finish his antibiotics. During my C section the dr found my appendix needed to be taken out. So I guess I got a 2 in 1 deal and now have no appendix. Healing up for me hasn't been the easiest either. My cut wasn't healing up so about 5 days after Wyatt was born they took out the staples and it opened back up. It was really depressing, super nasty, and hurt like CRAZY. I had a huge open cut about 4.5 in long, 1.5in wide and 1.5in deep. We had to pack it full of gaus every night and morning, which really hurt too. Just yesterday the dr took tape and pulled it back together and we'll see if it heals/stays. I really hope so; he said it won't ever heal completely where it's closed all the way, but for the most part we'll get it back together. I couldn't believe everything that was happening to us. I never pictured things would go this.....wrong. It hasn't been the easiest road for me or Wyatt, but we are recovering and are SO THANKFUL for all the family and friends that have helped us out SO MUCH!!!!

Wyatt is doing great! We left the hospital 1 week after his birth and he weighed 8lbs 12oz. So he almost gained a pound in a week. At 2 weeks he was 9lbs so he's growing great! He is such a good baby! He was only waking up to eat at night about 2-3 times, but now he's thinking it's time to be awake around 4am. He's so alert and is actually awake for about 3 hrs throughout the day. My mom came and stayed with us for the first few days home and then came back the following week to help me at night so brock could sleep for school. She helped out SO MUCH! Thanks mom!!!! We love our little son and are so thankful he is healthy and doing great! He truly is straight from Heavenly Father and is a Child of God, completely heaven sent.

Counting Down The Days

WOW, BIG-O-BELLY! I was just 37 weeks here!!!

We got a pretty good McGary Family picture the last day at the cabin.

We have been so busy with the holidays that I haven't had time to post lately. Here's the update on what's been going on:
I went to the doctor at 36 weeks and was surprised to hear that I was dilated 1cm and 50%. I was really swollen that day at the hospital and hadn't ever realized it because I've just been so busy with work. I had realized that my work shoes were a little hard to get on in that week, but I was always in such a hurry to get ready that I didn't pay much attention. Going back to the dr around 37 weeks I was around 2cm and 70%. I was planning on going to Portland right after that appt and then 2 days later going to the cabin in Priest Lake Idaho with the McGarys. The dr wasn't a fan of all that traveling, so Brock went to Portland and bought us a Tahoe (which I am absolutely LOVING!!). We are loving our new vehicle and all the room. I have been driving the honda civic for a while now with no dash lights, terrible rattling noises, very little space, and it was really starting to get uncomfortable for me to get into since it's so low (Brock always had a hard time just because he's so tall). Our Christmas this year was the new car and we are really enjoying it daily! The cabin was really fun and relaxing. We came home a couple days before Christmas and really enjoyed our time off. I quit working before we left to the cabin, which was really nice because I have REALLY started to feel extremely pregnant and very comfortable. I went back to the dr for my 38 week check and nothing had changed. Every dr I've seen for the last 2 weeks has told me to prepare for it to be any day. I really didn't want him to come close to the holidays so he can actually have a birthday, so I'm hoping to hold off at least until the 5th of January, watch I'll end up going over! I sure hope not!!!! Brock starts back up with school on Monday the 4th and isn't too excited but I'm glad he's still trucking along. We still have plans of heading to La Grande OR the end of March for just 1 quarter. We're actually pretty excited for the move, even though it brings a lot more work, packing, finding a place for just 3 months, and doing it all with a baby.

Hope everyone had a great Holiday Season and has a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! WOW, 2010!!!

...as a matter of fact...

I went to my dr's appt and found out that I am actually perfect in size! haha. I measured 31.5 cm, a little rule of thumb, they say I should be 33cm because i'm 33 weeks. But he said give or take a few cm is ok, so I'm just under the perfect size! UH, take that coworker! haha.

My little guys heartbeat has always been super high! It started out at 187! They said it drops the farther I get, and it has, but it was still in the "upper 150s." My dr said, "you sure you're having a boy because this heartbeat is and has been so high." I have been having a few dreams that my baby is born and it's a girl and I just wanted to cry. I wanted a girl at the beginning, but now I'm TOTALLY planning on a boy and would be very.....sad if we were wrong all along. I'm not thinking it will be a girl; I know so many babies defy the odds of the heartbeat theory. I just thought it was funny my dr said that! I'm still plannin on everything blue, pretty sure the ultra sound showed the appropriate male parts;)

Wow, 33 weeks TODAY! :)

Seriously, where has the time gone? There were/are so many things to do before this baby gets here! I remember thinking when I was 4 months, I still have plenty of time to get everything ready....now i'm thinking, I still have time to get ready, but really it's coming SO soon! With Thanksgiving this week and then Christmas right after that, I just know I'll be rushing to get everything ready before he arrives! Uh, I better get going!

Pregnancy.... a few thoughts about it. For the most part, I've had a great pregnancy so far. No major concerns, no ER trips, nothing really abnormal....but wow is pregnancy different than I thought. I can't believe the changes one goes through! Not just physically but emotionally too! I get a little more frustrated these days with comments people at work make. Most the time the patients say "your so little!" But the other day my boss asked (and we was being serious) if the doctors thought I was having 2 or even 3 since I'm so big.....UH NOPE JUST ONE!!!! Then a coworker asked me 3 times in one day if I was feeling ok. I knew I hadn't had a lot of time to get ready that day, but it wasn't like I went without makeup or anything. I was feeling fine, but by the third time she added the "you just look CRUMMY" and I had had it with her! This is what I mean by emotionally...I think I could have physically hurt her if I wasn't such a nice persion. This past week I have really started to feel huge. Getting up from a chair, a couch, and the bed has become a whole new experience in the last week. Brock is being super helpful and he'll pull me up. haha. Wow, the changes really are so funny! I laugh at the different things I'm going through, it's not really that fun, but seriously pretty funny how different life is with a big ol belly!

This past week my bad has started KILLING me! It's not my lower back like I've heard other people have. Luckily when brock was hurt I massaged his foot for almost 1 hour every night...so he is being a great husband and repaying me. THANKS HUN! Brock has been so busy with school this quarter. He has spanish and chemistry which has really made him work. He's doing so good though! I'm so proud of him for sticking with school, it's not an easy thing but he's doing great!

I go in for my next dr's appt tomorrow and I can't wait. It feels like a long time since i've been to the dr. My baby is so active! He is constantly kicking and moving, so I'm not concerned about him being ok, I just love hearing the heartbeat and stuff! I don't have any pictures to post right now, maybe next time.....but then again maybe not too:)

Changes in Appearance!!!

Brock looked lovely when he came home from hunting. This is him half shaved. He left it like this all Sunday...everyone was wondering about him! lol. It was pretty funny, for a day.

This is me right before my 29 week appt. I'm just over 7 months! The belly is getting big!

This one is around 27 weeks. He's growing slowly so it's so crazy to see the changes there are in even 2 weeks! My 7 month check up went great. I drank the nasty juice, or straight sugar, and the results came back good, not diabetic! Yay! (you have to ignore the funny face, I'm not feeling very photogenic(sp!) these days!)

Fun Projects

Since there are so many birthdays in October/November I decided to make a craft. I got the idea from Brittney Anderson, thanks brittney! I made 8 different sets and made them all different, which was the hard part! All the birthdays are: my sis-in-laws Jande, Karyn, and Camille. Sister Jilayne and my moms is early November. (mine is in october too so we have lots of birthdays!)

My mom put together a craft for us to do this last weekend. The wreaths all turned out really good, but mainly because my mom picked out good stuff:) It was fun and stressful! I've never worked with flowers, but I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

These pictures are all out of order...sorry...I made these fall blocks a while ago.

All of us with our wreaths. My neice Madie took the picture....so it was a great one:)

My mother in law was nice enough to let me take some of her produce and make this. I grabbed the board from the shop and just started painting. It makes the outside of our house a little more inviting....distracts people, a little bit, from all the nasty cobwebs!
